Secondary New Teacher Academy

Supporting teachers in their first years in the profession is important in Alpine School District.  All first year teachers are invited to attend the New Teacher Academy, two-full days before school, a full-day during school and a series of six after-school workshops, to help them hone their teaching practice for more effective student learning.  And, effective learning creates opportunities for our students to be college and career-ready.
The New Teacher Academy focuses on Utah Professional Teacher Standards:

  • Creating and maintaining a positive classroom environment that promotes student learning.
  • Planning curriculum and designing instruction to enhance student learning.
  • Engaging and supporting all students in learning.
  • Assessing and evaluating student learning.
  • Demonstrating professionalism to support student learning.
